Architectural Vision & Structural Engineering

The stadium’s futuristic, spaceship-like dome silhouette was masterfully designed by Interstudio Srl. To turn this complex geometric concept into a structurally sound reality, Interstudio Srl collaborated with Maffeis Engineering SpA. Their engineered tensile roofing system completely eliminates interior support columns, maximizing spectator sightlines and maximizing space efficiency within the massive column-free volume.

Premium PVC Membrane Technology

The 12,000 sqm roof uses a premium white PVC tensile membrane, selected for its extreme durability, lightweight profile, and flexibility. The material conforms flawlessly to the tight radial curves of the dome. Hot-air welded seams guarantee a 100% waterproof and monolithic surface, providing superior insulation and protecting the arena’s intricate inner steel framework from harsh weather.

Sustainability, Safety & Technical Features

The white PVC membrane offers an outstanding "Cool Roof" effect by reflecting solar radiation, which keeps the interior cool and drastically reduces HVAC energy consumption. Additionally, specialized ventilation panels and maintenance catwalks are seamlessly integrated into the structural curves for safe inspections.
