One of the most historical of those is the Sports Science and Athletics Pavilion at the University of La Verne, California, USA. Completed in 1973, it is the world’s first permanent tensioned membrane structure, still in use today.

The Hajj Terminal at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is also another iconic project. Designed to accommodate 80,000 travelers at the same time, the Hajj Terminal is the largest membrane structure in the world.

The Millennium Dome - is the world’s largest membrane dome

The Millennium Dome in London, UK, is the world’s largest membrane dome with a surface of over 60,000 square meters and is an iconic landscape of London.

Rennes Trainstation – movable middle layer

Rennes Trainstation in Rennes, France has a moveable middle layer that permits to variate the light transmission and the comfort inside the building. This system is the first allocation for Taiyo Europe and one of the few in the world.

Thyssen Krupp Testtower – the tallest vertical membrane structure

Thyssen Krupp Testtower in Rottweil, near Stuttgart, Germany is 246-meter-high fully wrapped with a combination of 15.900 square meters of PTFE coated fiberglass mesh fabrics.
