Aesthetics and sustainability: the new roof of the Munich's municipal waste management department with its integrated photovoltaic cells fulfils all the requirements which can rightfully be expected of a functionally and ecologically advanced structure. The 0photovoltaic technology is based on extremely flexible, amorphous thin-film solar cells embedded in ETFE cushions.
